Hi, I'm Laura, founder of Round of Appaws! My journey working with canines dates back to 2017. While studying in college to become a marine biologist, I took on a part-time job at a daycare/boarding facility in Long Beach. I quickly realized that land animals were pretty Paw-some too! While working in the daycare, I became fascinated with the behavior of dogs in the social rooms and wanted to learn ways to help those who struggled in that environment. I saw the demand from pet parents who wanted behavioral help with their pups. Deciding to change paths and pursue a career in dog training, I became certified through programs such as the Karen Pryor Academy and Animal Behavior College. Through my studies, I have gained an understanding of the most effective science-based training approaches in dog training. In recent years, I have had the privilege of working alongside other balanced trainers, learning dog psychology techniques that, when applied to reactive cases, have proven to be monumental in the growth and progress of behavior modification. One of my biggest accomplishments so far has been working as a trainer on the television series "The Pack" by Amazon Prime. I look forward to meeting you and your pup!
